Final Inspection
Quality assurance is critical to our business and our customers. In addition to standard bench inspection procedures, we have high-precision metrology equipment, including laser tracking and a Romer arm, to guarantee tight tolerances have been met to program specifications.
Laser Tracking
Laser tracking allows Rock West to conduct surface inspections on medium to large composite parts. Our portable laser tracker offers extremely accurate 3D measurements and is a complete solution for six degrees of freedom (6DoF) probing, scanning, and automated inspection.
Romer Absolute Arm
Rock West uses our Romer Absolute Arm to conduct high-accuracy tactile probing to ensure 100% compliance to specification for our composite parts. This articulating arm combined with our calibrated granite tables and in-house created testing fixtures will give you the confidence our manufacturing meets your performance standards.
Bridge CMM
Our Zeiss Bridge CMM can inspect parts within its 40” x 28” x 24” volume. With accuracy to < 0.0003”, this tool can be used for our most demanding projects. It’s programmable for production programs and can be driven for individual components.
Bench Inspection
We conduct standard bench inspection on all hardware produced in our shop. We utilize analytical software, including Surfacer. And we engage in all forms of inspection up to and including AS9102 First Article Inspection. We will customize our process to your program’s specifications.
